EcoMotors is a portfolio company of Khosla Ventures and Bill Gates. Founded by Vinod Khosla, Khosla Ventures (Menlo Park, California) is a venture capital firm dedicated to "making a difference", balancing the achievement of social benefits with material profit and building great companies.
In 2010 Bill Gates, the Microsoft founder, joined Khosla Ventures as an EcoMotors investor. Vinod Khosla founded the firm in 2004 and was joined by partners David Weiden and Samir Kaul, as well as chief scientific officer Doug Cameron in 2006. Khosla Ventures is based in Menlo Park, California.
